BCH pays $1.6M for land in Erie where it will construct medical-office building

ERIE — Boulder Community Health has acquired 6.1 acres of vacant land at the northwest corner of Erie Parkway and South Briggs Street in Erie where it will build a medical-office building that will include an urgent-care facility.

The property at 101 Erie Parkway, adjacent to Erie Community Park and the Erie Community Center, is along the main corridor into historic downtown. BCH bought the vacant land from Pat A. Tackwell for $1.6 million.

Construction is expected to begin in late 2017 and be completed sometime during the fourth quarter of 2018.

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

The medical office building will be two stories and have about 40,000 square feet of space.

“Boulder Community Health has served the residents of Erie for many years, now we will serve directly in the growing community,” Darryl Brown, BCH’s chief business officer, said in a prepared statement issued by the town of Erie. “This property is strategically located to serve Erie and the surrounding communities.”

Paula Mehle, Erie’s economic development coordinator, said Erie is experiencing an increase in skilled-service businesses moving in that “will help our community to attract additional businesses including the retail and primary employers that Erie resident’s desire.”

Erie’s board of trustees approved a zoning amendment in September 2016 that allows BCH to build at the site.
