Elevations adding branches in Boulder, Fort Collins; moving HQ

BOULDER — Elevations Credit Union will move its headquarters within Boulder as part of an expansion plan as its adds branches in Boulder and Fort Collins.

The expansion is being driven by “unprecedented growth” in 2016, when the credit union recorded several all-time highs — membership passing the 122,000 mark and managing more than $1.8 billion in assets.

The headquarters, currently at 2300 55th St. in Boulder, will be moved to its recently renovated branch at 2960 Diagonal Highway, which served as the credit union’s headquarters from 1996 through 2003.

“The HQ transition to the Diagonal facility will take time to complete,” said Jay Champion, Elevations’ chief operating officer. “We expect to complete the transition by late 2017. Select ECU team members will continue to occupy the 2300 55th St. location for some time to come.”

Elevations also is preparing to open a branch in downtown Boulder in the Wencel Building at 1301 Walnut St. that will open this summer. The branch, Elevations’ fifth in Boulder, also will serve as a community gathering place after hours for business networking events and financial seminars for members.

“Boulder has been and will continue to be our home,” Gerry Agnes, Elevations’ president and chief executive, said in a prepared statement. “We value the history we share with the Boulder community and remain incredibly grateful for its continued trust and support.”

Along the Front Range, Elevations is constructing a 5,000-square-foot branch at 2025 S. College Ave. in Fort Collins that is expected to open in late 2017 or early 2018. Champion said Elevations expects to secure a site during the second quarter of this year in Old Town Fort Collins, where it will open a branch bank, giving the credit union three branches in the city.

“Our plans for Old Town include our innovative new branch model, Branch 2.0, which features a greater emphasis on technology to accompany our consultative full-service approach to financial services, including personal, mortgage, business, and commercial banking,” Champion said. He said there will be a community room at the Old Town location, where the credit union will offer financial education seminars and community organizations can hold meetings.

The credit union has relocated a mortgage-loan office that was on Wilmington Drive in Fort Collins to a larger space on Royal Vista Circle in Windsor, a more central location to serve growing business along the Front Range. The old office was 1,600 square feet, and the new office in Windsor is 5,200 square feet.

The credit union also has two branches in Longmont, plus branches in Westminster, Lafayette, Louisville and Loveland.

Elevations Credit Union was founded in 1953, with 12 members as the U of C Federal Credit Union in Boulder.
