Private partner withdraws from proposed UNC medical college

GREELEY — The University of Northern Colorado Board of Trustees today won’t hear about a proposal to create a College of Osteopathic Medicine after all.

The Greeley Tribune reports that the proposal to host a private medical college on the UNC campus was pulled from the agenda for today’s meeting after the private partner withdrew.

Salud Education had proposed a partnership to create a College of Osteopathic Medicine on campus, using the vacant Bishop-Lehr Hall and laboratory school, according to a Tribune report. The school was intended to address the nationwide shortage of primary-care physicians.
