Encana to maintain major U.S. office presence in Denver

DENVER – Despite selling its oil and gas properties in the Denver-Julesberg Basin last year, Encana will continue to maintain a presence in Denver.

The Denver Post reports that the Calgary-based energy company has signed a lease to keep its main U.S. office in the Mile High City through at least 2026. Encana will occupy about 334,000 square feet in Republic Plaza, the tallest building in Denver and the company’s home since 2004.

The Denver office will continue to oversee Encana’s U.S. operations, the core of which is in Texas’ Permian Basin and Eagle Ford, a company spokesman said. Encana employs about 650 workers in Denver.
