Hotel occupancy rates in region tops along U.S. 36 corridor, Boulder

Lodgers along the U.S. Highway 36 corridor and the city of Boulder recorded the highest occupancy rates in the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado during September, according to the Rocky Mountain Lodging Report released Tuesday.

Lodgers along the corridor reported an occupancy rate of 85.2 percent, and lodgers in Boulder had an occupancy rate of 83.6 percent for the month.

Estes Park lodgers had a rate of 82.1 percent; Loveland, 80.6 percent; Fort Collins, 73.4 percent; and Greeley, 71 percent. The report does not include lodgers in Longmont.

Estes Park lodgers charged the most for a room — $199.65 per night, followed by Boulder, $182.35; Loveland, $134.30; U.S. Highway 36 corridor, $133.75; Fort Collins, $119.33; and Greeley, $96.72.

Statewide, the occupancy rate during September was 78.2 percent with an average room rate of $150.

For the first nine months of the year, lodgers along the corridor have had an occupancy rate of 77.2 percent, followed by Loveland, 76.6 percent; Boulder, 74.6 percent; Fort Collins, 69.8 percent; Greeley, 67.8 percent; and Estes Park, 58.3 percent.
