Lucky’s sets Aug. 10 opening day for new store in South Boulder

BOULDER – The owners of Lucky’s Market, a Boulder-based natural-foods grocer, said Tuesday they will open a new store Aug. 10 in the former Savers space at 695 S. Broadway in the Table Mesa Shopping Center in South Boulder.

“We are more than excited to make a big splash in our hometown and better share our love for good food at great prices,” said Bo Sharon, who founded Lucky’s Market in 2003 with his wife, Trish. “The South Boulder Lucky’s Market will be our new flagship store and has been designed to be a welcoming gathering place and cultural hub in South Boulder.”

The 32,000-square foot store will be led by Henry Kugler, who has 15 years of experience in the grocery industry.

The store will stock organic and local fresh produce, plus in-house cured and smoked bacon, house-made sausages, fresh seafood and meats that have not been treated with antibiotics or artificial growth hormones. The store will have a juice bar, community café area and an apothecary department.

The store will employ approximately 130 people, bringing the number of people working for Lucky’s Market in Boulder County to 500.

Lucky’s Market has 18 stores nationwide, including its original store in North Boulder and one in Longmont.

Lucky’s Market has worked with a number of local nonprofit organizations, including the TLC Learning Center and Camp for Change in Longmont, and Community Cycles and Bridge House in Boulder.
