CU taps Arizona professor to lead law school
BOULDER — The University of Colorado Boulder on Wednesday announced that University of Arizona professor James Anaya has been named dean of the CU law school.
Anaya takes over Aug. 8, and replaces Philip Weiser. Weiser is stepping down in July and returning to the CU faculty, and will remain executive director of the Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology and Entrepreneurship.
Anaya’s teaching and writing have focused on international human rights and issues concerning indigenous peoples. He was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for his work from 2008 to 2014 as the United Nations Human Rights Council’s special rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples.
