Elevations Credit Union submits plans for 2nd Fort Collins branch

FORT COLLINS — Boulder-based Elevations Credit Union has submitted conceptual plans to the Fort Collins planning department to construct a branch bank at 2025 S. College Ave. in Fort Collins.

The two-story, 11,000-square-foot bank would sit on three-quarters of an acre that is south of W. Prospect Road and north of W. Drake Road on the site of the vacated One Stop Asian Mart convenience store and gas station, which will be demolished.

Elevations has been in expansion mode for a couple of years. This will be Elevation’s second branch in Fort Collins. In Nov. 2014, it opened a branch with a mortgage loan office at 1526 E. Harmony Road.

Exploring & expressing grief

Support groups and events, as well as creative therapies and professional counseling, are all ways in which Pathways supports individuals dealing with grief and loss.

The credit union also has four branches in Boulder, two in Longmont, and one each in Lafayette, Westminster, Loveland and Louisville.

“We had hoped to have three branch banks open in Fort Collins by the end of this year, but it has been a difficult task,” said Dennis Paul, Elevations’ associate vice president of business development. “Fort Collins is a very tight market, and we want to make sure we do this right. We think we can offer great services to our members.”

Paul said 2025 S. College is a good location, and the property is under contract with owner Ebenezer Castle Inc., but closing the deal will be dependent on clearing three hurdles: hazardous materials cleanup, a request for a reduction in required parking spaces, and the fact the property sits in a floodplain, he said.

The new branch on S. College will include a walk-in banking lobby, financial offices, walk-up ATM services, two drive-up teller lanes and one drive-up ATM lane. The proposed building will be situated on the corner of S. College Avenue and Arthur Drive with parking located to the west and north sides of the property.

The fuel storage tanks will be evaluated for leakage and will be dealt with based on the environmental engineer’s recommendations and reports, according to public documents.

Elevations has employed Fort Collins-based firms Neenan Archistruction and Northern Engineering to work on site plans.
