Boulder hires landscape consultant for Civic Park Area

BOULDER – The city of Boulder has awarded a contract worth $226,315 to a California-based landscape design studio as the lead consultant to design the park portion of the Boulder Civic Area, a 27-acre site of city-owned property that is undergoing renovation.

Tom Leader Studio was selected from 16 design teams that submitted proposals and were interviewed.

The Berkeley-based landscape architecture firm will be charged with completing an area master plan and detailed design for the 7.5 acre public park within the civic area.  It will be supported by local Colorado firms Anderson Consulting Engineers, JVA, ERO and re: architecture. The team’s work will take place over five months, beginning in September and will provide various opportunities for public engagement, according to a city statement.

The city will hold a kick-off event for the project at 6 p.m., Sept. 22 and 23, at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art.
As the event approaches, online engagement will be available on www.InspireBoulder.Com.
