Fort Collins firm partnering on hotel in Cheyenne

FORT COLLINS – Spirit Hospitality is partnering on the development of a 10-story Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Cheyenne, Wyo.

An entity called Willco IX Development LLLP, of which Fort Collins-based Spirit is a partner, is raising $8 million, according a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Willco, a Spirit official said Friday, is the official entity behind the development, which the money will be used to fund.

Spirit’s development manager Moira Bright said the hotel is slated for the southwest corner of 17th Street and Pioneer Avenue. She declined to disclose the full cost of the project, which is still going through the planning process with the city.

The hotel will include 130 rooms, a full-service restaurant and conference space. The project could also entail building a walkway above the street that would connect the hotel to the parking garage across the street.

Bright said the hope is for ground to be broken by the end of the year, with construction taking about 15 months to complete.
