Region’s home sales send mixed signals in October

DENVER – The number of homes sold in October rose in Fort Collins, Loveland and Berthoud and fell slightly in Greeley, but Greeley’s prices rose while the rest of the region’s fell.

The figures, obtained from IRES data collected and distributed by the Colorado Association of Realtors, shows 232 sold listings in Fort Collins in October, up from 184 in September. A total of 126 homes were sold in October in the Loveland-Berthoud area compared to 97 in September. The Greeley-Evans area had 113 home sales in October, down from 121 in September.

The median home sales price in Fort Collins in October was $224,100, down 4.6 percent from an average median price of $235,000 in October 2008. In Loveland-Berthoud, the median sales price in October was $201,000, down 12.4 percent from $230,000 in October 2008. Greeley-Evans’ median home price was $134,596, up 13.1 percent over $119,000 in October 2008.

Greeley-Evans reported the lowest number of average days on the market at 81. Loveland-Berthoud had the highest number of days on the market at 131, while Fort Collins reported an average of 109 days on the market.
