Average wage in Larimer County: $19.57 per hour

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Larimer County workers earned an average of $19.57 per hour in October, according to new data from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The results from the National Compensation Survey showed that hourly earnings ranged from $27.25 for health-care practitioners and technical occupations to $8.48 for food preparation- and service-related occupations in the Fort Collins-Loveland metropolitan statistical area. The survey also found that full-time workers earned an average of $21.49 per hour while part-time workers earned $11.94. Complete survey results can be found here.

In March, the BLS released October wage data for the Denver-Aurora-Boulder MSA. The metro area has an average wage of $23.11 per hour, with full-time workers making $24.44 per hour and part-time workers earning $12.13.

The survey covered 229 establishments in the private sector as well as state and local governments. The sample in Larimer County represented 122,500 workers.

Figures for the Denver-Greeley-Boulder MSA have not been updated since June 2006.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics suggests that the occupational wage data gathered by the survey can be used by businesses for pay planning, relocation decisions and collective bargaining negotiations.
