Local brew sales bubble to top
FORT COLLINS — New Belgium Brewing Co. Inc. held onto its position at No. 3 of the top 50 craft brewers in the U.S., while Odell Brewing Co. dropped a few slots.
According to the most recent ranking by the Brewers Association, New Belgium came in behind Boston Beer Co., which brews Samuel Adams, and Chico, Calif.-based Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. The rankings are based on 2007 sales.
Odell Brewing ranked No. 33 for 2007, down from No. 31 for 2006 sales. Also in the top 50 from Colorado were Denver-based Flying Dog Brewery at No. 29, Louisville-based Rock Bottom Brewery Restaurants at No. 32, Denver-based Breckenridge Brewery at No. 42 and Boulder Beer Co. at No. 45.
