Public Service Credit Union to take over Norlarco

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Credit Union Administration today selected Denver-based Public Service Credit Union’s bid to purchase the assets and assume the shares of the financially troubled Norlarco Credit Union in Fort Collins.

NCUA has been overseeing the operations of Norlarco since last May when the Colorado Commissioner of Financial Services placed Norlarco into conservatorship after the credit union experienced financial difficulties related to delinquent real estate loans it had made.

The consolidation of Norlarco into Public Service Credit Union will guarantee Norlarco members with full member-owner rights at PSCU, according to a statement from NCUA, the independent federal agency that charters and supervises federal credit unions.
