Northern Colorado Inc.: Foothills Plaza Sold; Shamrock Taxi Seeks Fare Hike

Foothills Plaza sold

FORT COLLINS — Foothills Plaza, a 30,000-square-foot retail center at Monroe Drive and College Avenue, has been sold for $2.15 million.
Everwest, a partnership of Fort Collins-based Everitt Enterprises and Westcor of Phoenix, bought the center from Monroe Drive Investors LLC. Tenants include Swensen’s, Micro Computer World and State Farm Insurance.

Shamrock Taxi seeks fare hike
FORT COLLINS — Shamrock Taxi is seeking approval for a 16 percent fare increase. It would be the Fort Collins cab company’s first such increase in six years. The increase would take Shamrock’s mileage fee from $1.40 a mile to $1.80 a mile. Shamrock serves Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland.

Tribune publisher leaves $7 mil.
GREELEY — Long-time Greeley Tribune publisher Mildred Hansen, who died in September, left more than $7 million to Weld County institutions and charities.
Hansen left $2 million each to the University of Northern Colorado Foundation Inc. and the Greeley Area Foundation, $1.5 million each to the Aims Community College Foundation and North Colorado Medical Center Foundation, and varying sums to the Salvation Army of Greeley, Piney Woods Country Life School, National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine in Denver and Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.

Egg hatchery approved
ROGGEN — The Weld County Board of Commissioners approved a hotly debated egg hatchery near Roggen, but not before debate ran for four hours.
Missouri-based Moark Hatcheries plans to invest $10 million in a facility that will be operated on 227 acres. The property is surrounded by a buffer of more than 2,400 acres. Company officials say the hatchery will supply eggs to Colorado, Arizona and California.

Merix finalizes HP purchase
FORT COLLINS — Oregon-based Merix Corp. has finalized its purchase of Hewlett-Packard Co.’s printed circuit board division. Merix took over ownership of the Loveland division Nov. 1. HP’s 290 employees in the division were offered jobs at Merix, with 230 of them accepting.
